Model Number XL4000ii-DF
Following on from the success of the Excel Power XL4000i and the Mark II XL4000ii generator, Excel Power Generator listened to what the market needed and developed the XL4000i-DF Dual-Fuel version. This has the same feature-packed specification as the XL4000ii but with an integrated LPG system so it can be powered by either fuel.
Being one of the few ‘factory made’ LPG propane generators this sits in a class of its own. The full petrol rating of 3.8kW only drops to 3.5kW when on gas so it still powers an amazing amount of equipment.
Mobile caterers and other professional users are finding it more difficult to use petrol or diesel generators at venues and events. But LPG generators are accepted everywhere as the fuel is safe to store and the emissions are lower.
With the high quality inverter board this generator emits out pure sine wave electricity actually better than what you get in your own home.
It is essential that you service and maintain your generators regularly. Excel Power Equipment is fully taken care of in the UK with engineer support— giving you full peace of mind.
Whilst running on petrol this generator has a maximum output of 3800W (3.8kW) and a continuous rating of 3500W (3.5kW) this gives a great improvement in capacity over the standard size of 2kW.
When the generator is switched and running on LPG then the power output is lower – 3500W (3.5kW) maximum and 3.200W (3.2kW). This is still a good amount of power with the added benefit of slightly lower noise levels and much lower emissions.
The maximum rating of this XL4000i-DF is 3.8kW (3.5kW on LPG) and this is the most this generator will provide for a short time to ‘start’ things. Some devices have a starting current that is higher than its running current so this allows for that*. This generator will run comfortably at 3.5kW (3.2kW on LPG) as its ‘continuous’ rating but run it at a higher load and it will trip out.
If you are looking for more power or want some spare capacity then have a look at the Excel Power XL8000ii the biggest and grandest inverter generator available which is also available in dual-fuel version the XL8000i-DF
If you find that you can live with a lower powered generator then the smaller and less feature packed XL3500i or XL2200i are excellent machines as well as the smallest of the range XL1400ii.
Maybe you don’t need the dual-fuel LPG version of this model so there is a more economical petrol only version – XL4000ii
The XL4000I-DF has two UK standard 3 pin sockets – this generator was designed in the UK for use in the UK!
It also has a 12VDC ‘car style’ socket for powering low voltage items and a 5VDC USB connector so you can charge USB devices directly.
The XL4000i can be connected in parallel to give you nearly twice the power output of 6.5kW. You will need a parallel kit so you have the larger sockets to get the full power from both generators.
This provides a high power, flexible solution. If your power needs are lower one day you can run one generator and the next you may have a higher power requirement so simply parallel the second unit in.
The higher the generator output, the bigger the engine – the XL4000i-DF uses the SV230 223cc LPG converted overhead valve engine which is emissions certified to Euro V standard. This is the best petrol engine emissions standard currently available.
The XL4000i-DF inverter generator is a market leader with some excellent features:-
You need a generator that can stand up to the demands of the job and this XL4000i-DF comes in a tough and robust case.
Open frame petrol generators run at 3000rpm all the time – inverter generators are better as they vary the engine revs according to the load. This means lower fuel consumption and lower noise levels when running on lower loads.
It also features a 10 litre petrol tank to give a long time between fill ups and when on a gas bottle it will run as long as the gas lasts.
Here is what you get; 1 x Excel Power XL4000i-DF generator, 1 x user manual plus tool kit. Also, the XL4000i is covered by a 2-year warranty.
*Please check the output of the generator is high enough for your needs. Some items have a very high starting current (such as motors) so please make sure it is big enough to handle everything you want to power from it.
