Model Number XL3500i-DF
The Excel Power XL3500i Dual-Fuel suitcase generator is an upgrade to the standard 3kW non-Dual Fuel generator version. It gives you the option of running on either petrol or LPG. It is still a great size at over 3kW (on petrol) and not much power is lost on LPG still with a high output of 2.7kW.
This output gives greater flexibility on what you can power but in a small package that can easily be handled. The Honda EU32i is similar but not available in a dual-fuel version.
Excel Power has put some thought into having great features such as switching between petrol and LPG while the generator is running – just by flicking a switch – and having extendable wheels and handles so you don’t need to carry it.
This suitcase generator has been designed for recreational use such as a camping generator, as well as light professional work.If you are a mobile caterer there are an increasing number of venues that are not allowing petrol generators so having the option of LPG will allow you to continue to trade.
With the high quality inverter board this generator puts out pure sine wave electricity actually better than you sometimes get in your own home. This means all your electronics, phones, laptops and devices will be powered without a problem.
It is essential that you service and maintain your generators regularly. Excel Power Equipment is fully taken care of in the UK with engineer support— giving you full peace of mind.
Whilst running on petrol this generator has a maximum output of 3200W (3.2kW) and a continuous rating of 3000W (3kW) meaning you can power more than a standard 2kW and not worry too much about what you need to turn off.
When the generator is switched and running on LPG then the power output is lower – 3000W (3kW) maximum and 2700W (2.7kW). This is still a good amount of power with the added benefit of slightly lower noise levels and much lower emissions.
The maximum rating of this XL3500i is 3.2kW (3kW on LPG) and this is the most this generator will provide for a short time to ‘start’ things. Some devices have a starting current that is higher than its running current so this allows for that*. This generator will run comfortably at 3kW (2.7kW on LPG) as its ‘continuous’ rating.
If you are looking for more power or want some spare capacity then have a look at the Excel Power XL4000ii or XL4000ii dual-fuel with electric remote start or even the biggest, grandest inverter generator available – the XL8000ii which is also available in dual-fuel version the XL8000i-DF
If you find that you can live with a lower powered generator then the smaller XL2200i is an excellent machine and the smallest of the range XL1400ii will keep the lights on and devices charged.
There is also a more economical petrol only version – XL3500i
XL3500i- Electrical connection
The XL3500i-DF has a UK standard 3 pin socket which means no adapters are required – this generator was designed in the UK for use in the UK!
It does have a European ‘blue’ schuko style socket so a euro plug can be used without an adapter. The XL3500i-DF is supplied with a Euro to UK 3 pin adapter to give 2 x UK 3 pin socket outlets.
It also has a 12VDC ‘car style’ socket for powering low voltage items and a 5VDC USB connector so you can charge USB devices directly.
The XL3500i can be connected in parallel to give you nearly twice the power output of 6kW. You will need a parallel kit so you have the larger sockets to get the full power.
This provides a high power, flexible solution. If your power needs are lower one day you can run one generator (quieter and less fuel) and the next you may have a higher power requirement so simply parallel the second unit in.
The higher the generator output, the bigger the engine – the XL3500i-DF uses the SH150 149cc LPG converted overhead valve engine which is emissions certified to Euro V standard. This is the best petrol engine emissions standard currently available.
The XL3500i-DF inverter generator is a market leader with some excellent features:-
You need a generator that can stand up to the demands of the job and this XL3500i-DF comes in a tough and robust case – fully enclosed to reduce noise levels and look good too.
Open frame petrol generators run at 3000rpm all the time – inverter generators are better as they vary the engine revs according to the load. This means lower fuel consumption and lower noise levels when running on lower loads.
Here is what you get; 1 x Excel Power XL3500i-DF generator, 1 x user manual plus tool kit. Also, the XL3500i is covered by a 2-yearwarranty for peace of mind.
*Please check the output of the generator is high enough for your needs. Some items have a very high starting current (such as motors) so please make sure it is big enough to handle everything you want to power from it.
Hampshire Generators can also maintain your generator with a regular cost-effective service plan or one-off visit. Simply call 01329 722390 or inquire via the contact us page.
